A week of epic swell and surf

Last week, our local surf beaches were on fire,  here on the Llŷn Peninsula, we got lucky and experienced some unforgettable and very long awaited surf conditions.

The phone was hot as wave buoys, charts, wind forecasts were double and triple checked and refreshed multiple times a day, as whispers and excited chats began to rumble within our local surf community that 'something' was on the way as people were quietly thinking how they could pull a weekday sickie from work or finding the courage to tell their boss they had a 'private' docs appointment and it was all truly worth it as the spicy autumn surf really didn't disappoint. We love where we live, we really do but occasionally at this time of year it can be a little well........Welsh grey and with added water falling from the sky, but honestly the cherry on top of this magic swell was the Welsh sunshine and blue waters, our patience for decent waves seemed to pay off dividends!

It was so good to see everyone in the water last week, enjoying the waves and conditions with wide grins on their tired surfed-out faces. Here's a few of our snaps from last weeks line up heroes, doing their thing at Porth Ceiriad, our little North Wales  jewel of a wave (is it still a secret? Are we still not allowed to mention its name and location? ooooopps!!!)

In the meantime, we're getting apropriately winter wetsuited and booted ready for the next swell to hit, because all good things really do come to those who wait!
