Embracing the chill one neoprene glove at a time

As the 'ber' months are now upon us, the drop in air and sea temperature should definitely not be an excuse not to brave the water, and we don't need to give you the spiel about why its good for you to embrace the cold water!

So go on make that cold water swim or winter surf trip out of the WhatsApp group chat, don't put that surfboard into hibernation make this your year that you surf, swim, SUP all the way through and you can swop that fair-weather badge for ultimate winter warrior!

But let’s be honest—we could do without the freezing fingers that come with it. Enter wetsuit gloves: your new wintery best friend! Not only do they keep your hands warm, but they also allow you to look like a super cool sea creature on a mission.

Let’s dive into the types of wetsuit gloves you can choose from:

1. Lobster Claw Gloves: Halfway to Crustacean Status

As the name suggests, these funky hand warmers are designed to keep your fingers cozy while also allowing you to channel your inner lobster. With a split design, thumb and pointer are going solo and the other three digits together in a separate compartment. These neoprene gloves are like the middle child in a family of hand coverings, they want to be included but also need their own identity. They’re great for activities that require a bit of grip and dexterity allowing  you to hold or adjust your kit without completely sacrificing warmth. Plus, you’ll look totally gnarly waving at passersby, they won’t know if you've invented a new greeting or challenging them to a crustacean fight.

Mittens are particularly great for long-haul water adventures where finger dexterity isn’t as crucial but still important. They're giving 'snowman who took a wrong turn and ended up in the sea rather than melting in your front garden, all that's missing is that handy piece of wool or string that connects them through the arms to prevent you loosing one!!
